FOR PARTICIPATION IN INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNISED COURSES
Documented proof of meeting one of the following course entry requirements:
E/I WE: European / International Welding Engineer.
Higher Engineering (minimum 5 years). (*)
Technical Engineering (minimum 3 years). (*)
Bachelor of Engineering (minimum 4 years). (*)
Graduates in Physics or Chemistry (minimum 4 years), with a minimum of 2 years experience in welding technology and/or metal-mechanics. (*)
(*) In all cases, graduates with education in the following fields of engineering may participate: aeronautics, automotive, civil construction, industrial production, mechanics, machinery, materials, metallurgy, mining and shipbuilding.
Other fields of engineering may be valid if at least two years of experience in the metal-mechanical sector or in welding technology can be proved.
E/I WT: European / International Welding Technician.
Certified photocopy of the diploma of Higher Technician in specialities related to the metal-mechanical sector.
Certified photocopy of the qualification of Specialist Technician (F.P.2) in specialities related to the metal-mechanical sector, with 1 year of experience in activities related to the metal sector.
E/I WS: European / International Welding Specialist.
Certified photocopy of the Technician qualification in specialties related to the metal-mechanical sector, with a minimum age of 20 years and 2 years of experience in activities related to the metal sector.
Certified photocopy of the Auxiliary Technician qualification (F.P.1), in specialties related to the metal-mechanical sector, with a minimum age of 20 years and 3 years of experience in activities related to the metal sector.
Certified photocopy of the International Welding Manager (IWP) qualification with two years of experience in metal-related activities.
Professional worker in the metal-mechanical sector with a minimum age of 22 years, 4 years of experience and additional training in the metal sector. (An initial evaluation by the CESOL Certification Committee will be required).
E/I WP: European / International Welding Manager.
Academic qualification: Secondary education graduate or equivalent.
Professional competence:
Certified Welder according to UNE-EN 287-1 (or EN ISO 9606-1) in the position H-L045 ss nb in at least one welding process, or equivalent, e.g. in 6G according to ASME IX; or
Certified Sheet Metal Welder according to UNE-EN 287-1 (or EN ISO 9606-1) at position PE ss nb (or at positions PC ss nb and PF ss nb) in at least one welding process, and/or other equivalent national certifications of IIW member countries; or
European / International Pipe Welding Diploma.
Experience: A minimum age of 20 years including five years of welding experience. In cases where the candidate holds a technical academic certificate in the Metal-Mechanical speciality only 2 years of experience must be justified (see Note 2).
NOTES:
In case you have the International Welding Manager (IWP) qualification or you are a Professional Worker, you will have to take a basic technical knowledge test (IWS-0) to access the course. If you do not pass the IWS-0, you will be required to take a course prior to the Specialist course.
In order to be admitted to the examination, the Welding Qualification Certificate according to UNE-EN 287-1 (or EN ISO 9606-1 and/or ISO 9606-2) must be in force.
